1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the services of Hammer & Hedge Handyman ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Provided
Hammer & Hedge Handyman provides professional handyman services including but not limited to:
- General repairs and maintenance
- Fencing installation and repair
- Landscaping and garden maintenance
- Pressure washing
- Flat-pack furniture assembly
- Decking installation and repair
- Other handyman services as agreed upon
We serve the following areas: Including Guildford, Godalming, Horsham, and Dorking.
3. Quotes and Pricing
All quotes provided are estimates based on the information provided by the customer. Final pricing may vary based on:
- Actual condition of the work site upon inspection
- Additional work required that was not initially disclosed
- Changes in scope requested by the customer
- Material costs and availability
We will communicate any price changes to you before proceeding with additional work.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and other agreed payment methods
- For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work commences
- Late payments may incur additional fees
- All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable
5. Scheduling and Cancellations
Our Commitment
We will make every effort to arrive at the scheduled time. In the event of delays or the need to reschedule, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Customer Cancellations
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will incur no fee
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee
- If we arrive at the scheduled time and you are not available, a callout fee may apply
6. Customer Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the work required
- Ensure safe access to the work area
- Remove or protect valuable items in the work area
- Inform us of any hazards or special conditions at the property
- Obtain any necessary permissions or permits for the work
- Ensure someone over 18 years of age is present during the service
- Provide access to utilities (water, electricity) if required
7. Warranty and Guarantees
We take pride in the quality of our work. Our warranty covers:
- Workmanship warranty: We guarantee our workmanship for a reasonable period after completion
- Material defects: Warranty on materials is subject to manufacturer's terms
- We will rectify any defects in workmanship at no additional cost if reported promptly
Our warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse or neglect
- Modifications or repairs made by others
- Issues arising from pre-existing conditions not disclosed to us
8. Liability and Insurance
Hammer & Hedge Handyman carries appropriate public liability insurance. However:
- We are not liable for damage to concealed utilities or structures not disclosed to us
- We are not responsible for the discovery of pre-existing damage or defects
- Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question
- We recommend you check your home insurance covers work being undertaken
9. Materials and Waste Disposal
Unless otherwise agreed:
- We can source materials on your behalf or use materials you provide
- Waste disposal is included for minor amounts of waste
- Large quantities of waste or hazardous materials may incur additional disposal fees
- We dispose of waste in accordance with environmental regulations
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Hammer & Hedge Handyman or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
11. Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
12. Dispute Resolution
If you are not satisfied with our services:
- Please contact us immediately to discuss your concerns
- We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any disputes amicably
- If we cannot reach an agreement, disputes will be handled in accordance with UK law
13. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
